Underground Utilities

The Sewer Division of the Underground Utilities Department maintains 126 miles of sewer lines and 15 lift stations. They perform daily maintenance to the lift stations, manholes, and sanitary sewer lines, including cleaning, root cutting, and answering calls on sewer back-ups. They are equipped to do spot repairs, main break repairs, and lay new water lines. They receive assistance from the Street Department on repair and new construction projects.

The Transmission and Distribution Division of the Underground Utilities Department is responsible for providing sufficient water distribution, pressure, and capacity throughout the City. This division coordinates repairs and improvements to the distribution system along with improvements to the firefighting capabilities of the system.

The Underground Utilities Department has one Supervisor and five Maintenance workers.
