The CodeRED system will serve as the backbone of the City of Emporia emergency planning and communications outreach to both community members and staff. The system sends automated telephone calls, text messages, and emails to inform residents to better protect life and property.
The city uses the system to notify residents of waterline breaks, road closures, construction hazards, as well as general notifications such as sanitation schedule changes.
Sign up for the City of Emporia CodeRED mass notification system by texting EmporiaKS to 99411 or visit Emporia CodeRED Sign Up.
Community members can opt for "Emergency" as well as "General" text, email, or automated phone messages. General messages will include sanitation schedule changes and holiday office hours.
Alerts are now available in English and Spanish. Select your preferred language when creating your account online.
Remember to program your phone for the following numbers for alerts from the City of Emporia once you are signed up:
- (866) 419-5000 Utility or Other Emergency Alerts
- (855) 969-4636 General Community Alerts and Notifications
