Municipal Court
The Emporia Municipal Court is a court of limited jurisdiction, having responsibility for adult misdemeanors which occur in the City of Emporia, Kansas, with a few exceptions.
The Municipal Court acts on tickets written by the Emporia Police Department, ESU Campus Police, Emporia Code Enforcement, Emporia Planning and Zoning, Emporia Animal Control, and Parking Control Officers.
There is one Municipal Court judge who is appointed by the Emporia City Commission. The judge presides over all cases that are filed with the Emporia Municipal Court.
The Municipal Court Clerk’s Office and Court Services department assist the judge in disposing of cases and provide additional services to customers, defendants, and those placed on supervision by the court.

Court is held on Tuesdays at 9:00 am and Thursdays at 9:00 am and 2:00 pm.
