CODERED: MASS NOTIFICATION SYSTEM
Community Members can Opt-In for System for Notifications
Emporia, Kansas November 1— Following a thorough evaluation and review of alerting systems, The City of Emporia has implemented CodeRED, a high-speed emergency mass notification service provided by Ormond Beach, FL-based OnSolve, LLC.
The CodeRED system will serve as the backbone of the City of Emporia emergency planning and communications outreach to both community members and staff. The system sends automated telephone calls, text messages, emails and posts to social media channels to inform residents to better protect life and property. CodeRED was selected for its reliability and accuracy.
CodeRED’s robust notification system will provide the City of Emporia officials with a reliable, easy-to-use interface to quickly deliver critical information to our community members during emergencies. The city anticipates using the system to notify residents of waterline breaks, road closures, construction hazards, as well as general notifications such as sanitation schedule changes.
OnSolve has provided the City of Emporia an initial database of residential and business telephone numbers; however, all residents living within Emporia limits are encouraged to visit www.emporia-kansas.gov and click on the CodeRED logo to enroll their contact information including cell phone numbers, text, and email addresses. No one should automatically assume they are in the emergency contact database.
